Cargo Ship Develops Heavy List Off Colombo

On June 26, an Indian cargo vessel developed a heavy list on its port side while sailing off the coast of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

What happened?

The cargo ship ‘Mutha Pioneer’ started developing a heavy list on its port side while sailing off the coast of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The cargo ship was on its way from Colombo to the Maldives at the time of the incident. The ship tilted to the side after the captain lost control of the vessel.

Savage units dispatched

Naval units were dispatched to assist the vessel and its crew. The captain and ten crewmembers who were on board the ship at the time of the incident were evacuated from the vessel and transferred to Colombo harbour.

There were no reports of water pollution following the listing and none of the crew members were injured during the incident.
